I have a Remington Model 7 Predator 22-250 22in fluted barrel 7 1/2 lbs with a Nikon Coyote Special 4.5x14 scope. I shoot Hornady Superformance Varmint 50 gr V-Max traveling at 4000 fps. It is a great combo. I will hit any predator or varmint I am willing to shoot at. I have heard alot of people don't like the round circle BDC reticle but you have to use it before you can bad mouth it. I also use the Spot On software which match your Nikon reticle to virtually any ammunition. But you have to use a range finder to find the yardage, Nikon, Bushnell are ok. But I use a Leica 1200, works alot better than any I have use. Again you get what you pay for.

Just found out the camo Remington 700 varmit comes in 22-250 or .243, but not 25-06. I've seen the scope you have listed as they happen to be on sale right now and I was worried about the circle instead of the cross hairs, good to hear it is fine. I also took a second look at the .243 and read up on it using the .55 to 80+ grain pills with the 1:9.125 twist and that actually is looking better than I originally thought. Feel like one of my daughters trying to figure out which shoe to wear. Black Friday adds are not out yet to verify it is going on sale but I am sticking with the Remington 700 varmit camo rifle. I really liked the feel and especially the trigger, about the same as my Accutrigger on my Savage.

The trigger on the Remington 700 or the Model 7 - I think are the new model triggers, and they are both adjustable. But! Please have a competent gunsmith in your area do the adjustments.
I have shot a 700V for the past 40 years, I have owned 6 - 700V's and 1- 40X in 22-250 all excellent guns, the 40X was just way to heavy to carry - it was a truck gun! And a single shot!
You can't go wrong with a Remington in a 700 or a Model 7.
And the 700 in a 243 is a winning combination!
Gary BTW: If later on, you decide you want something different, something with a little more umph! You may consider a 243 AI (Ackley Improved) - adds about 400 fps to the 243 Win - turns the 243 into a 1000 yard (or more) cartridge. But that is whole other story!

700 Varmit is their bull barrel. I have that for my .17hmr and it is not a problem to carry with a sling.

I love the heavy barrelled rifles, they are more stable from shot to shot.
It is really not a problem if you are carrying that heavy rifle on an Outlaw Sling from Timber Butte Outdoors.
Just wait, here it come's - all the guys that are here that use the Outlaw Sling, are going to tell you how well they work! OK! here we go!

Yep, I'm a prostaffer for Timber Bute Outdoors and I can attest to how well they work. They leave both hands free and a varmint hunter can appreciate that. They make the weight of your gun less noticeable as the weight is evenly didtributed instead of all on one shoulder. Every varmint hunter needs to have at least one Outlaw Sling. Bob

Now I just found out they only have 10 rifles, one in .243, 5 in 22-250 and 4 in .223. I'll have to be one of those first in line for the sale people that I so hate to do. Time killer and rain expected for Black Friday.

Don't think I'll ever own a .223, not that it isn't a good cartridge, just not my cup o' tea. I do own a .204 though!!
