Got about 20 of the little buggers today. Saw a coyote running full bore about 700 yds. out. No badgers. Beautiful day, about 60 degrees.

I usually go the first week in April to Mountain Home to shoot whistle pigs but because of work I cannot go but have to delay it a bit. Because of other issues I may have to go, if I can pull it off, get there around April 13th, or possibly April 27th but is the grass too high to go this late? I've been in June and it was horrible because the grass was higher than the whistle pigs and in early April it is still short. Near May too late?

Was out Pleasant Valley Road this afternoon and they were pretty thick for a couple of hours. The young are out in force now too. Not many people out either....great day to wander around.

It shouldn't be to bad. I'm some places there a weeds left from last year and it makes them kinda hard to see. But there's plenty of good shooting out there.

So, I take it what you are saying is that the grass is not too high yet at the end of April, not like it is in June where it is at least 8" tall, instead of 2".

No, not much grass yet, just old dead weeds from last year. We've been getting s lot of rain. If this weather ever straightens out and warms up it will probably start growing. Hope to get some good shootin' in before then.

Haven't ordered parts for my race car but I have to do some pretty expensive, by my mind, stuff to keep racing this year that I wasn't planning on doing. Going for new heavy duty radiator and lines for tranny, someone bought me a vacuum pump and I'll need to pay for that, new bearings for the crank/rods, fluids, rebuild distributor as it looks horrible, new spark plug wires, so it is going to take a few bucks. I'll have to really look at finances before going as this will cost as much as a vacation. We are also dropping a different torque converter in so that should get my 60' down and hopefully be running 10.1's if all works right, shifting the big block at 7,000rpm and going through the traps probably the same. Plus, I seen what my hospital bill is going to look like, not as bad as I thought it was going to be, but still going to hurt.

Gary and I went out for awhile this afternoon. Kind of a breezy blustery day but we managed to get a few. The pups are coming out now so they make a little more of a challenge. One was running down the road away from us and Gary shot on the wing. Pretty good shootin' for an ol' varmint! We had fun, I hadn't been out with Gary in a long time.

I don't think it's possible to have more fun than we had today. Four of us went out after beans at Tom's cabin and shot whistle pigs. Actually only three of us shot. They were all over the place, young ones, old ones, little ones and big ones. Have no idea how many we got but it was a bunch. Couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day. Good shootin' with good friends.

Shot 'em up good again this afternoon. They were all over the place. Big ones, little ones and all sizes in between. Tons of fun.
