JHey you ol' varmint, Bring your gun when you come for beans and we'll go out and get some whistle pigs afterwards. You haven't been getting out enough, I'm afraid you might lose it if you don't get out soon.

Thanks Bob.

The official hunting license starts April 1 and ends March 31, right? I'm thinking that is what our Washington Licenses are.

I just looked at the regs, again! If you're just going to hunt varmints for a few days you'd be better off to get a 3 day nonres. small game hunting license for $35.50. Or non game hunting license, valid Jan. to Aug., for $35.50. Otherwise a full season nonres. hunting license will cost you $154.75.

Gary, I knew you'd lost most of it but I thought you had just a little bit left, just didn't want you to lose it all. See you Wed., you ol' varmint. Anybody else that wants to meet at us at Tom's cabin for beans then whistle pigs after is welcome. Loren, Mark, George, anybody?

Some of us went out yesterday after beans to shoot whistle pigs. I was surprised, they weren't to active and the ones that were out were pretty skittish. There was quite a few people out there and I think they're getting shot at pretty good. Also, I think the females might be down having their young ones. I managed to get five. One of our new members and the one who won the rifle, Joe, went with us. He was able to shoot a few and I think he enjoyed the outing. It was an enjoyable day out in the field though and got to spend good times with friends, Gary, Loren, Mark, Bob(2)and Joe. Bob Here's Joe and his visual confirmation! Also his first IVH Whistlepig! WTG Joe! The Gang out shooting! Loren, Joe, Mark, and Gary. Also there was Bob Roper, and Robert B.

Yes! Yes You did! You missed all the fun. It is over! NOT!
There is 3 reasons we haven't been out shooting wpigs!
1) The weather has been overcast, not much sun, very windy, and cold below freezing at night! 2) The females are denned up with pups right now, so they are not leaving the nest until the babies are weined and the weather clears up and warms. 3) No one can get any kind of ammo right now! So, no one is shooting anything.
As soon as the weather does get better, I am sure you will start seeing more and more posts about varmint shooting. Hang in there!

I'm hunting early April, even if I have to dig them out of their holes and throw them in the air and use the shotgun I'm going to shoot some. Didn't know the weather was still bad. Haven't checked in a while. BTW, please make sure the weather is warm and not raining when I get there, that is about all I've had up here except yesterday, finally got around 50 and sunny, for a bit. Froze again last night.

Good day for piggin' today. They were all over the place. Sat in one spot for over tw hrs. and shot the little boogers. Shot until I used up all the .22 lr ammo I had with me then went to the .218 Bee with 40 gr. v-max. It makes a pretty good "ground" squirrel gun. Think I'll start calling it the "Meat Grinder". Got a belly full of beans today then had a ball shooting whistle pigs, couldn't ask for a much better day. Bob

I missed the tourney on Saturday. Parker turned 8 and we had kids running everywhere, cake flying, .. typical birthday party at our house BUT we got out today (sunday) and had a banner day. Started out kinda slow, picked up and then died off again around 1 when the clouds came over. I just about suggested we leave and spotted a few grounders. Took a couple shots and then someone turned the switch on because the pigs came out and it never slowed down. We had 3-4 doubles and multiple singles hit with two bullets. average yardage was 100 with the center fires but we stretched a few shots out to the 300 yd range. Cody and I tried a few at 550 yds but it was really hard to claim success on those shots. I left the house with around 275 bullets (22-250, 204) and came back home with none And that was only my two rifles. I think Cody went through 100+ rounds of 223 and many many 22lr and 17hmr. I think at one time we had 8 guns firing and pigs flying everywhere. I cant say exactly how many I nailed but Im going to claim a conservative 60 for the day. I spent a lot of time behind the binokillers watching the excitment and spotting targets.
