I'm assuming that the rest of the IVH members are as concerned as I am about the recent Gun Control talks. More than just concern about finding ammo or reloading supplies or finding an AR to purchase I'm quite upset that they actually stand a good chance of restricting the types of weapons we can legally own, force gun registration, add taxes to gun purchases, magazine limits, etc.. My general feeling is that most Idaho politicians have our backs on these issues. I contacted our Congressmen (I greatly encourage you to do the same) asking them to support our 2nd amendment and oppose Feinstein's whacky gun ban proposal. If you havent seen that proposal yet you should search it out..basically if a gun "looks" scary they want it banned. Anyhow, our congressmen responded back with general statements supporting our right to bear arms. I also joined the NRA and donated what I could to the nra-ila.com . There is a lot of money and negative false media aimed against us right now. I encourage you to contact our politicians and donate whatever you can to any gun advocacy groups lobbying in our favor. Please don't sit back and see how this plays out! Please get involved and show your support! If your already on board I commend you :-) Thanks!!!!! Eric

I have done my part. My brother works for Senator Jim Reich, he is the Leason for Twin Falls district and the district to the East of Twin Falls. So, I call him and voice my opinion, and he passes it on to the Senator. But, I want to start calling every week to all ofg our State and Fed representives. To let them know how displeased with the way the country is being run. After what I wrote on Facebook, I am hoping that the DHS or FBI will not be standing on my doorstep in the morning, putting me in irons and hualing me off to some deep dark hole some place. If you don't hear from me for a while, you will know that I have been abducted. It's been nice know you all! I hope to see and talk with you again sometime in the far off future! Gary

Bob, I don't think they allow visitors in the deep dark hole! Thanks for asking though!
Eric, you should click on over to Timber Butte Outdoors Facebook and watch where I am going with it. You will see what I mean about the Men in Black coming to see me. I am going to go outside and see if I can see the drones yet. ROFLOL
Almost all the content on the IVH Facebook is put there by myself. I share pictures and article from other Facebook pages. The ones I feel are important to the club to keep informed on what is going on within our sport. Thank you for your good comments though! If there is something you feel needs to be posted, go for it, it will be on the home page, but I can send it to the front page, or share it to the front page. That goes for any of you all, post it up, if you feel it is important to the club as a whole. That also goes for the IVH Forums here!!
Thank You! Gary

I do some writing in Washington and my two liberal Senators are lackeys for Feinstein and Boxer and they are good buddies and they think the same and all return letters are scary at best. We are hurting for anyone that likes the Constitution in our state, confinscation and denial of gun rights are their favorite terms of the moment.

Using the current mindset and vastly superior intellect of our elected officials Ive creatively come up with a fool proof way to elliminate deaths caused by drunk drivers. Since we are incapable of taking away vehicles from drunken drivers (Who by the way are NOT the real trouble causers here) we should globally enforce a 2 gallon limit on EVERY vehicle (vehicles are the root of all evil. scary looking vehicles are worse!). By doing this we only allow drunk drivers to kill people within an estimated 50 mile radius. They of course would need to re-fuel and restart the rampage but I forsee no inconvenience to the general populace. Along with this there should be a 5 day waiting period on the purchase of any vehicle so that the government can assess wether or not you are, Or will become, drunk during the operation of the vehicle. Do to the widely understood common fact that Scary vehicles cause the majority of drunk driving deaths ALL scary looking vehicles will be banned. (Including 4x4's, any vehicle with a lift, a camo paint job, or an aftermarket bumper, .. 150 vehicles in total are named on this list) Anyone selling a vehicle on the fair commerce market will be required to assess wether the potential buyer is drunk or may become drunk during the operation of the vehicle. Problem Solved? Some people would actually believe this nonsense. Discuss.. www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/injury.htm Number of deaths in 2010: 180,811 Motor vehicle related: 33,687 Poisoning: 42,917 All Firearms deaths 31,672 (big number but consider that 19,392 of these are suicides by firearm) For comparison out of 100,000 people there are: 3.6 (6% of all deaths) deaths caused by Firearm homicide 10.9 (19% of all deahs) by vehicle 13.9 (24% of all deaths) by poisoning Vital Statistics Report (real factual data here) www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nvsr/nvsr61/nvsr61_06.pdf (over 30 references given on this information) Wow.. Not surprisingly firearms deaths didnt even make the top 15 leading causes of death in the United States. Possibly this would make you think that maybe the country isnt focusing on the right things. Below is an accurate representation of the Gun Advocacy groups and their media lies givin' it to us..

In response to the article posted here I emailed Mr. Walter Steed: www.ktvb.com/news/Protesters-call-on-local-GOP-chairman-to-step-down-190704751.htmlMr Walter Steed, As a law abiding citizen of the State of Idaho I feel that you are not accurately representing the citizens with your gun control recommendations. I felt compelled to email you to let you know that I do not stand for gun control tactics and that you are not correctly representing the majority of the State of Idaho. I belong to multiple Sportsmans clubs that promote the legal use and enjoyment of the so called "assault" weapons and guns with magazine capacity over 10 rounds. It has been my life experience that members of these organizations, and the general sportsman populace, are fine individuals with a love for humanity. We should not be blamed or have our rights restricted due to recent lunatic crime sprees. The effort of eliminating gun crime by method of limiting magazine capacities would have the same effect of limiting vehicle related deaths by method of reducing the capacity of fuel tanks in vehicles. This of course is idiocy. As a family man and a normal hard working American Im saddened by the recent shootings. No compassionate human wants to see these types of crimes take place anywhere. Ive also had friends and acquaintences killed in vehicle related injuries. The solution to both issues is pro-active education/training and reactive ENFORCED punishment to the CRIMINALS and mentally unstable individuals and NOT Law abiding citizens. The populace of Idaho wants real solutions to these problems, not knee jerk reactions and false media lies. Your actions against our right to bear arms will be noted to every club I belong too. Respectfully, The response: " Thank you for your comments and for the link to KTVB. I had not seen that. Walter Steed" I hope something got through to him..

Well put, Eric. And I agree, we need to make ownership of "assault" vehicles illegal.

But sadly, people don't stick to running over rabbits with them. Sooner or later some nut case or drunk gets in a so called "assault" vehicle and runs over and kills another human. So we must make it illegal for anyone to own an "assault" vehicle. ;D

Then I suppose you will drive your "assault" horse to work and to hunt??

No you can own a regular vehicle after the proper paper work and appropiate waiting period, but you can not own an "assault" vehicle. The gov't will decide what an "assault" vehicle is but basically what Eric described above. The program will be run jointly by Diane Fienstien and Nancy Palosi. Two of our most favorite and sensible senators. LOL, LOL, LOL. Yeah, right!
