Anyone use a .222 on wolves? My alternative is a 7mm Remington Magnum so it's not really an alternative!

You know how tough coyotes are? Just times that by about 100 and you have a wolf. So I would say, the 7mm Mag is your better bet in this case.
Keep the 222 for coyotes (up close, within 150 yards), coyote can take a good punch in the center and keep on going, like I said they are tough, rockchucks, and whistlepigs.
Personally, I wouldn't go below a .243 Win for wolves. Well I might use my 22-250 - 55gr Nosler Partition Bullet, or Remington Core Locked HP 55 gr, if they are close out to 200 yards.
