I seen then watched this pr of coyotes on the hunt. They finally bed down, on the down-wind slope of a hill around 740yrds out from the gravel road. I went & obtained permission to go in on them. Male happened to be bedded farther on the side of the hill towards me. So that is the one I went for. Snow was moderately crusty loud, so I walked very slow & methodically, coming in crosswind on them. I finally worked my way onto an open hillside, crosswind & adjacent from the male. I went prone & zoomed in 14x & put the crosshair on his heart. Squeezed off a rd. Hit him in the heart & he rolled onto his back legs kicking in the air. Then he went limp & rolled onto his side. No movement. Ok, he's down for good. After all he has just been hit with a 95gr Ballistic tip in the heart. I get up from my prone position & start to walk towards him. Suddenly he gets up & runs hard along the hillside, going down hill from me. I scramble back to my rifle & flop prone. I'm leading...leading, bang! miss....leading bang! hit him quartering up into his chest. He rolls a couple of times & slid to a halt. After the second hit, I waited prone for another minute or so, to see if he had more go. Nope, game over.
