We were out on Saturday and thought we had a coyote calling to us on our second or third stand. Had me fooled for about 2 - 3 minutes until I realized that the sound I was hearing was another foxpro being used to call back at us. Needless to say we didnt call anything on that round. Found a great place to make a stand at another point and followed another set of footprints to a sage brush where someone had made a stand within the last day or so. Alot of people are getting out there but I am still seeing alot of fresh tracks.

We are seeing lots of tracks and sign but just not having much luck calling them iin.

Everything west of the Big River is being hammered and way to early by guys who think they know what they are doing.
Between the drought and diease and hunters starting to call in August, what do you really expect this time of year? A free lunch?

Yeah, a free lunch wouldn't be bad! I know what you're talking about though. The coyotes around here have been called and shot at by everybody and his brother. But I'm gonna keep tryin'.

Coyotes here have had a dose of 4 calling contests, airplane hunting, local hunters and the mange!!! I have had the worst coyote hunting this year since the early 80's...bummer..Too bad it seems to be this way all over..

...wait.. your saying that I cant kill 6 coyotes everytime out with a maximum of 3 stands? Randy Anderson told me that I could  I havent had any luck with the e-caller or the hand calls lately. And I know they are out there watching and listening to me try to coax them in. |

Yeah, they're really hard to get right now. We can't even get them to talk to us now. When I finally do get another one I'll probably be doing the Fred Eichler dance!
