I use a Benjamin Discovery topped with a Bushnell 5X15X40 to thin out some ground squirrels. Longest shot so far is 72 yards. Here are a couple of pics from a while back.

Ive been having an internal debate on the next caliber to get.. Either an AR platform of some sort , or the polar opposite with an Air Rifle. Thanks for posting the pictures.

Gary, These are known as California Ground Squirrels. I understand that the Columbians are in the Northwest and Western Canada. In Northern Cal - Shasta County -- there are Beldings. I think these may also be in Idaho.

Your guess is close. I shoot East of Oakdale also but these photos were made on the Western side of the valley. Just west of Patterson.

broper: Nice buck ! I haven't got out this year. Season ends Tuesday and we are getting lots of rain and supposed to keep raining through about Thursday. So I probably won't get out this year. Oct 24, 2021 6:46:00 GMT -7
