hopefully we'll be hunting wolves this year.
What do you guys think about the rule change? we can now use electronic calls for the wolves. This rule change will help make our quota for sure! Nice.

I hope to do some wolf hunting also! We didn't get to go last year. I have a freind that got his, and was going to go and get his son one also.
I think the new law is good for calling, it makes it easier for a hunter to get away from the ecaller, which takes the critters focus off him, but you can send out a better more natural sound than the hand call.
And it gives the beginner a half ass chance at killing a dog. They can go out set up (if properly) put the ecaller out, settle back, and crank up the tunes, and hopefully have a pack come in for the shot.
I like using a hand call, but for sounds that I can do. I think that having an ecaller, gives you a ton more options on sounds, and duration of the call/stand - without passing out! You know if you have to sit on a stand for more than an hour, blowing a hand call for that long is just to hard on your body.
The new law is GOOD stuff!

Edit: I forgot mention, I was talking to Loren a few days ago about this. I told him that I was going to have to send my FX3 into Foxpro for the FX5 upgrade, because, I need more space to add more sounds, for the wolf hunting. 32 sounds are not enough now!! But! I think 200 would be enough for a short time! I Hope! LOL! Do they make an ecaller that has more than 200 spaces for sounds, I may have to purchase one of them!

RLO,
What kind are you looking for?
My hunting partner has his Foxpro FX5 for sale right now! He is asking $400.00, it has way over 100 sounds on it, very few miles on it also.
He is selling it to fund another project.
If you are interested? Let me know, I will give you his email or phone #.
If you are not intersted in a used caller, I am now an authorized Foxpro Dealer, also a dealer for Western Rivers, and I also have Johnny Stewart callers.

I have a Minaska Big Country. Great caller and I went with it because of the sounds were free to add to your play list. Came loaded with 100 and there was a fairly good library to pick from at the time. Looking back I would have bought the Fox Pro for the same money and had a better selections of calls. It seems that Minaska has moved in the direction of the southeast and their new sounds have been Raccoon, Turkey and Alligator. Here in Idaho I have not seen any gators to call but I'm waiting for the chance, I made a few requests for these people to help us in the west out and I have had no help. For the $400.00 go with Fox Pro. On the topic of Wolves, I will be putting this out for all of the wolf hunters in Idaho. I will happy to do a European Skull cleaning with Dermestid Beetles and whitening for any Idaho wolf taken legally and the price is FREE!!!!! Just trying to help out the Idaho hunters!!!!! When the season opens, freeze the skull and call me at 208-740-7331. You get the skull to me and I Euro your mount for you. Cant wait to get some large predator hunting in as well.

Gary, Sorry, i dont get on here enough. I wish this forum would email me when someone posts. I cant keep up with all of them...
Anyway. i am still interested in an electronic call. Im interested in one that has a good remote range, and sounds for wolves, coyotes and cats. any suggestions??? looks like the foxpro's are the most popular.
Im sure your buddy has sold his by now.
Ill try to check back, but you can also email me at travis.brown.23@hotmail.com

Hello Travis, Yeah my buddy did sell it. It didn't take long either! I also wish it would send an alert of some kind. I returned your PM. I would look at the Western Rivers Nite Stalker Pro - it has 400 sounds installed, their whole Orion Library - everything from mouse to Bull Elephant - and all the wolf sounds you will ever need. They say the remote is good out to 250 yards line of sight, line of sight is with any of the higher priced ecallers on the market. Also - All the proceeds of any Western Rivers product sells, actually goes to the IVH Club to help keep the club running. Check them out on my website at: www.timberbutteoutdoors.com - click the TBO Store button in the menu. Talk to you later! Gary
