Hey Everyone, I am sorry that I haven't gotten this done sooner, but I have been up to my hips in alligators (way busy) with everything.
But, today, I am alone in Elko, and I have time to finally get this done.
So, On December 1st, we held our December one day fun hunt. We called it the "Christmas Songdog Challenge".
We all met at the Great Wall Chinese Restaurant on Eagle Rd. in Meridian for the registration. We had 6 teams sign-up for the competition. Everyone had a good time eating and chatting with one another about all sorts of topics, but mostly coyote clling and hunting. I is so much fun to be able to be involved with such a great bunch of people.
One team was a Father/Son team. Brian and Marcus teamed up to compete.
Loren and I was able to participate in this hunt, although we had to leave the desert, and come back into town during the day to do some banking and other stuff for the tourny. But, that is just one of the hazards of managing the hunts, we have accepted it.
Like I sated before, this was a fun hunt, it didn't pay out alot of money, or prizes or much of anything, but the fun and commeradory was at a level that seemed to make up for what was missing.
The Winners of the contest was Lance and his partner Chris. They brought in one coyote to win 1st place.
The First Place Team won a total of $37.00 and a couple of Foxpro Skyote Hand Calls for their efforts. Thanks Lance and Chris for participating and supporting the club. We Honor You Both!
This contest was a 50/50 split with the club. If there had been more teams that had signed up, there would have been a bigger cut of money for the winners. We didn't have trophy plaques made for this contest, because they would have been more money that what was brought in, and the club would have lost money.
No other coyotes were brought in. Although, teams did see coyotes, but were unable to get them in for a shot.
As for all the other teams that were there to participate, and support the club, We Honor you all also! We appreciate everyone of you!
I guess you want to see a few pictures! I am sorry for the poor quality, I took them with my phone camera.
Here are your winners Lance and Chris
Brian and Marcus
George & Brian
Bob & Eric
Big Ed, Twinkle, and Loren
Although Ed, Twinkle, and George didn't hunt the contest, they came out to show their support for the club, club members, non-club members, and the contest. Thank You All!
We here at IVH, hope to see you all for our January ICC - Idaho Coyote Classic. It is going to be a hoot!
Again, I am sorry for the poor quality pictures, someday, I am going to get a good camera, or someone that has one that will volunteer to be our photographer! So, if you are interested in being the official photog?
Please let me or Loren know! Thnak You!
