Just wanted to say hi. I grew up in Yakima, Washington, shooting my Dads Westernfield bolt action .22 and assaulting sage rats with a vengeance. That was interrupted by over 20 years of service in the Army, and another 20 working toward the American dream. Got the house, I'm still broke. I had a .204 and tried the varmint thing for a while, but being on call 24/7 kinda put a damper on that. I'm back to having somewhat normal work hours again, so with the addition of a Winchester model 70 bull barrel in 22-250, I'm thinking yotes and rock chucks are once again on the targets of opportunity list. Now it's time to start researching some good spots for critters and seeing if I can both find and attract them to their demise.

Greetings from the Darkside (SW Idaho) Welcome to the Idaho Varmint Hunetrs Forums. Pull up a cup of joe and make yourself at home. That rifle sounds like it will get the job done. The 22-250 has been my varmint/coyote caliber of choice for the past 40 years. Good luck finding places to call/hunt/shoot. Let us know how you do, post pictures and a story to go along with them. Good Hunting Gary

Stickman, Thanks for the welcome and a great forum. I've been given a tip on a place for Coyotes just North of here, so my next day off will start early for a little scouting trip. I'll let you know how it goes.
Thanks again.
PS. I should have an application and money on the way for membership by the weekend. Figure if I'm going to do it, I should at least support it.
