Just what I needed. I've been doing some research today to see what it takes and it appears they seem to run toward the noise and I would have thought they would slink toward the noise. Some young guys on Youtube used a shotgun several times for real close encounters. Coyotes around here I think are a little more skittish than those on the plains.

All the coyotes I've called or seen called were coming in pretty hard, I've never seen one sneak in. We did have one in the last contest that hung up at about 600 yds. until I blew a real unsual call, that did it, he started coming in hard but he'd stop and look, then I'd blow and he'd come some more. Finally at about 300 yds. we shot him. It was really something to watch him com in from 60 yds. though.

I can see already I'm going to need someone to let me do a tag-a-long when I can get back down there to Idaho. Hardly any where to shoot where I'm at up here without driving for many miles and almost all land is privately owned or off limits.

Most of the time the dogs I call in come to about 35-45 yards if not closer! I like to see the white in their eyes before my "prairie dog gun" drops them! The "prairie dog gun has dropped a few at 250-300 yards though.

4th grandkid is now on its' way up here, so that will be 3 here and 1 in Idaho. My wife likes the volume and is hoping for them to move up here so they will all be up here. I do get other hunting in up here with the shotgun but I'm better with a rifle and a couple sticks. The wife is not too hip on all the hunting stuff and now she doesn't know if drag racing or hunting is worse. I like them both. I've got a 10.4 second split bumper Camaro that is strictly a track car now and a buddy just gave me new slicks and some front race springs, maybe 10.2's or 10.3s around the corner when the season starts summer of next year. Can't leave that, my buddies and the grandkids and my cousin and brother whom I hunt with.
