Got my spotlighting permit last weekend. My friend and i went out last saturday and this. We called what his uncle said to for hours, heard nothing so we fell asleep, but we heard them in the morning. I walked around about 10 square miles of where we where in the morning and i saw tons of scat and tracks, of only coyotes and no deer or any other animal. so i know i they were there i just was in the wrong spot and calling wrong. ANY TIPS ON CALLING?

Hey newb,
No one has replied to your request because, it is impossible to explain how to make caling soundsl in writing. It is something you have to have demonstrated to you, in person. In other words you need to go calling with an experienced caller, to hear and learn what the calling sequence goes.
Also, I only know one or two guys that actually on occasion, does any spot lighting. I can't tell you if you are making your set-ups correctly or not, even at night you have to set-up correctly.
Calling coyotes in Idaho, even at night, is a challenge at best. If you are inexperienced, it is going to be harder and more frustrating than you will want to deal with.
Good Luck, Gary
