I left the house early and headed out to the desert. Stopped off at a popular shooting area to scrounge some brass and continued on my way further out.
I got to my piggin' spot with all intentions of walking around and shooting. As soon as I got out of the truck and loaded up my magazines, they were all over like the flys on cow patties. I spent over an hour shooting around the truck using it for stability. After I thought I exhausted the little guys within in range I set off after grabbing some more rounds.
I walked around for another couple hours playing a sadistic game of Wack-A-Mole with a giant smile on my face. Finally after I was out of ammo and I headed back to the truck satisfied with the day. Well it continued for another hour after opening up a fresh brick.
Do you ever have one of those days where the pigs are a plenty and you just can't seem to miss no matter at what distance they are? It was one of those for me today, I still can't get over how many are out there now. I haven't seen this many for a couple years now.
Sorry for the rambling but I just had to share. It's almost too much fun for one person, if anyone wants to go next time let me know.

hogpauls,
What a great post. I love the enjoyment that you experienced today. I fell into your enjoyment and felt like I was there to share it with you! Thank You!
I really like to have days like that - so many piggies that one can go blind from shooting them. We are going to go on Wednesday, with a couple of the club members. It will be a fun time. Any time spent out in the squirrel fields is a good day.
I was out on Saturday, it was pretty much the same way, pigs everywhere, some places the dead weeds were thick enough to hide them, so I would move until I found a good spot to shoot, free of thick weeds.
Well! Thank You again for the great post. It sounds as if you had a soul touching moment. Very Good!

If you can't make it tomorrow, you are welcome to tag along with the gang on Wednesday? We will meet at Tom's Cabin Cafe at 11:00am for lunch, and then head out to the sandhills.
Tom's Cabin is about 5 miles West of Emmett on Hwy 52, going toward New Plymouth. The Cafe is on the corner of Hwy 52 and Tom's Cabin Road. You can't miss it.
Weather Permitting! Even if the weather is bad, we can enjoy a good lunch or bowl of beans.
Brass Scrounger? You and Loren would get along well - he too is a Brass Scrounger - everywhere we go he is finding brass!!!
