The 2012 Idaho Sportsmans Expo is over for another year. Eventhough, we had a great time, and more than that! we had a very successful show for the IVH Club.
This year Jeff & Cindie from smokeapackaday.com allowed us to use their show booth. The use of the booth made IVH look like a professional organization. Loren and I worked very hard on making this years show better than last year.
We had a "GREAT" crew help us with manning the booth. We had Bob, George, Ed, Twinkle, Harold, Allen, Loren, Connie, Gary, Jeff & Cindie. What a great time!
The crew had time to catch up with one another, and solidify some relationships within the crew. It seemed everyone had good time talking to anyone that was interested in varmint/predator hunting/calling, and those interested in the club.
They all told people about the events that we have coming up in the near future, such as: the Whistlepig Tournament, and the Badger Tournament. We handed out registration fliers to all that were interested, sending them away with hopes that we will see them the morning of the sign-in, and after the shoot, for the weigh-in.
We also handed out Club Information Pamphlets, telling about the club. The pamphlet tells about our goals and mission of the club in Idaho and the Northwest.
I would like to Thank Mr. Brian Robinson the owner of Western Rivers Game Calls. Mr. Robinson sent me a box full of the new 2012 Western Rivers Catalogs. We handed them out to anyone that was interested. IVH is a Dealer for Western Rivers Game Calls. All sales of Western Rivers products, whether through IVH or Timber Buitte Outdoors, all fund go to IVH as a fund raiser. So, please if you are interested in a new "High-tech" electronic caller or a hand call, please remember IVH and support the sport!!!!
Loren and I would like to "Thank!!!!" everyone that helped out with the booth, for their hard work, in talking to everyone that stopped at the booth! (There were a lot of people at the show this year)
It is funny, how peoples attitude changes when they see that there is going to be a Whistlepig Tournament. You can sit and watch people coming down the isle, they are glum or disinterested look on their faces, until! they reach our table - then their expressions change, then the corners of their mouths begin to rise, and they get that little kids glow about them, and they kinda become giddy! Thats when? all of a sudden they start to talk your leg off about their expereinces with shooting whistlepigs - it is a great thing to witness. Best of all?? They walk away a happy person. I guess they realize that there relly is more to life than doing the 9 to 5 thing everyday - someone is actually making sure that there are fun activities for those of us that like to shoot alot. Being able to do an activity with their friends and family, is PRICELESS!
Not to mention the kids that come to the table and see the whistlepig mount, and Bucky the mascot Rockchuck. They will come and hangout for along time, we talk to them about whistlpig shooting, if their parents takes them shooting. We talk to them about Hunters Safety Classes and if they have taken them yet. We want to see more kids involved in the club. Getting kids involved in the club or even events, is how we know that the work we are doing right now, will translate into future promtions and protections of the sport, as well as OUR Second Amendment Rights. Insurance for the future.
A large number of people didn't even know that IVH is a club, or that IVH even exists. It is fun to talk to them about IVH.
We also had more products in the booth this year. Thanks to Jeff and Cindie, as you can see from the pictures, we had smokeapackaday.com merchandise in the booth for sale. Jeff brought in T-Shirts, Hoodies, Truck Window Decals, and Hats. We sold a bunch of the decals. Of which a percentage of the proceeds went to the Idaho Varmint Hunters Club to help continue our programs. Thank You Jeff and Cindie, we appreciate your support of the club, and showing your support for the sport & we love you both.
We also had other products for sale in the booth. Thanks to Gary from Timber Butte Outdoors for having a selection of TBO products on hand. We had Outlaw Slings, TBO Game Carriers, TBO Drags, the new Buddy Haulers. TBO also had a selection of predator calls to choose from. Bugling Bull Game Calls, Burnham Brothers Game Calls, Western Rivers Nite Stalker E-Caller, Knight & Hale Game Calls, and Johnny Stewart Game Calls.
We had a bunch of new members join the club during the Expo, of which we would like to Thank them for their decision to join the club and showing their support for the sport.
Ok! Here is a few pictures for you to see what went on with IVH and the Expo!

Speaking of Ed! I am sorry but I didn't have any pictures of Ed and Twinkle - how did you both miss having your pictures taken? Just wait till next time. I am going to make sure Allen gets your pictures. We didn't get any pictures of Bob and Harold. I will get you guys!!!!!!!!!!
The Crew members had time to go and spend time walking around the show, looking at all the attractions. They were able to purchase items from other vendors, and have some food in the food court, or like Jeff, spending time making business deals. I just keep harrassing him! LOL
Loren and I took about an hour out of the booth, to attend and harass Ron Talbot, while he conducted a Seminar on Coyote Calling 101. He did a good show, with a powerpoint presentation.
Thank You everyone again, for making the 2012 Expo such a great success. Please keep up the great work and your support.
