If every big game hunter killed every predator they encountered during their season it probably would make a slight difference, but it is difficult to let my sidearm shatter the quiet of a stalk when I am closing on an elk herd with my bow. The point of making our national forests look like city parks where all the trees are 200 feet tall and there is no browse for wild life is much more detrimental to deer/elk/bird populations than predators. Overall I agree with the author. Continue to hunt predators and incorporate logging into the equation when considering wild life management.
