I just bought my first "varmint" rifle, a Tikka t3 chambered in 22-250, havent quite decided on the which glass yet. I am moderately experienced in shooting these critters, but I am just now getting serious about it. I am planning on entering the coyote classic, and really looking forward to the badger hunt in June as well. I hope to glean a lot of info and knowledge from you guys, thanks.

jrpitdog,
Welcome to the IVH Forums. We are glad to have you here.
Congrats on the new rifle. Those Tikka's are nice guns. You are going to be very happy with the 22-250, it one good all round varmint cartridge. I have been shooting one for nearly 40 yrs.
What kind of scope are you thinking about?
We are also glad that you are going to register for the ICC. It is alot of fun. You can meet alot of other coyote caller/hunters. It is a good way to try out the competition thing, and it doesn't cost alot to do, besides it gives you an excuse to spend the day out in the desert hunting!
This will be our first badger competition - I think it will be a kick in the pants.
Meantime, we have a meeting on the second Tuesday of the month at 7pm at Fuddruckers on Eagle Rd. Boise/Meridian. Come on down and meet the crew, we are a good bunch of men and women, with alot of varmint/predator hunting experience.
Hope to meet you soon. Good Hunting. Gary
