Hello idsavage, I would just like to Welcome you to the forums, and the IVH. Make yourself at home. I can't help you with SE Idaho hunting, because we are in SW Idaho, Emmett to be exact. But, I am sure there are some folks out in that area that can help you out. Come on people, someone step up and help out here? ? We hope that you will post stories and pictures of your hunting success. We would like to have reports from the East side of the State, and maybe some participation on the forums from there also. Good Hunting Gary

Thank you much, stickman.
I sometimes get to call on your side of the state, when visiting my outlaws.
Really, I've only called near Boise. It seems called pretty hard. We'll keep trying, though. It seems like finding a good population that's still a little naive is the hardest part.
That said, I don't suppose anybody is dying to name their honey holes on the internet.

You are Welcome idsavage. You're right about being called hard, but that is not all - it is gunned hard also. With such a large popuplation in the Tresure Valley including Mt.Home and the Air Force Base, coyotes are hard to call and as hard to find. If a guy wants to find a naive population, you are going to have to go where no one else will go - deep into the back country! I doubt very much that anyone is going to blert out their favorite spots. The fact is, when it comes to coyotes, what is a honey hole today, may turn out to be a dry hole the next day or next week. The advise that I give is to get one of those DeLorme Map Books of Idaho, than fill your gas tank (hahahahahahaha), then pick a spot on the map, and go there and see whats there. Look for likely calling spots, GPS mark them or mark your map. Then start calling! Make sure that you hide your vehicle well. I hope someone in your area will contact you, and maybe take you calling with them. BTW: Where are you located? Gary

There is some arial gunning going on out in the desert. I know last year I heard of one outfit that shot 86 coyotes in one day from the air, from one area in south central Idaho.
But it is mostly drive by shootings, people driving the back roads shooting "AT" them, and then there are the other hunters shooting "AT" targets of opportunity while big game hunting, or as we like to call them "volunteer" targets.

I may be the closest one to you. I honestly don't know much about that country up around you. I have always wondered what it would be like out around "Crators" and the Reservation. If it is virgin ears you are looking for the farther away from Utah you are the better your odds.
