The 2011 Northwest Nationals are now in the history books. The Administration would like to extend a heartfelt Thank you to all that registered & participated in the Northwest Nationals. There were 15 teams registered. THE WINNERS ARE: 1st Place; Layne Bangerter & James Lakey - 18 coyotes. 2nd Place; Ron Talbot & Wes Allison - 16 coyotes 3rd Place; Dustin Butler & Travis Osmond - 9 coyotes Totals for the weekend: 200 coyotes sighted - 81 coyotes shot and turned in at weigh-in. Man what a pile of dogs!!!!! It seemed everyone had a great time, met and talked to old friends and made new friends. We had a good dinner & conversation. ]

Congrats to to top three teams! Huge numbers, that's good hunting! Way to go to everybody who hunted. Ben and I had no coyotes, we got skunked! I had a good time every day out hunting. Thanks to all the helpers and Idaho Varmint Hunters for putting on a great hunt! See you all at the Coyote Classic! That pile of coyotes did look real good!!

That is an awesome job. I am baffled of how they even seen 18 dogs, let alone shoot them. wished I was there to see the pile of dogs, but we got carried away and lost track of time. Now I need to figure out what were doing wrong. Wrong calls, wrong spots, idk i've never even seen 18 dogs in 2 days and I hunt all over.

He's from Montana and I'm not sure but, I don't think he's a gov't hunter. He does write for one of the predator hunting magazines though. I think they're just good coyote caller/hunters.
