Last weekend May 15, 2010 Loren, Harold, Ray, and myself all got together at Harolds house in the morning, and went out south of Boise to do some whistlepig and badger hunting. We had a good time, talking and teasing each other, telling jokes, and shooting and talking about and discussing ammo, and firearms, also we talked about Club matters - We even tried to figure out a way to fix the world and all it's ill's. And Ray even tried to steal my 10/22, after he shot it for awhile, and then shot a badger, he was sure he was going to keep it! LOL! I told him if he really wants one like mine, I would build it for him - he said ok! I did get to bring my rifle home! LMAO!!! We got out to the desert, and found that the grass is extremely tall and thick, made it hard to see the little rats, even made it hard to see the badgers, But! we were able to find a bunch of squirrels to shoot, and we saw 9 badgers, and we shot 4 of them. The only badger we were able to get pictures of is the one that Harold shot. Here is Ray with Harolds Badger! We have to come up with a device to reach way down a deep hole to retrieve the dead badgers, we lost 3 to going down the hole and being able to reach them. If you have an idea, please tell me your idea for retrival. Good Hunting, Gary

You need a 1/4" steel rod, 3-4 foot long, sharpened on one end and twisted like a corkscrew and a handle on the other end to get a good grip. Stick down hole, twirl and it should grab badger, pull out.
I could build this in my metal shop.

16conservationist,
I would like to have one of those devices, if it didn't cost an arm and a leg.
Let me know how much. My email is: idahovarminthunters@hotmail.com or timberbutteoutdoors@yahoo.com
Thank You! Gary
