Yeah! We had a good day! I thought I would take the opportunity to elaborate on Brendan's story. If he doesn't mind? LOL
Now! Here is the "Rest of the Story!"
What Brendan failed to mention was that we saw a total of 10 coyotes, a butt load of antelope, some mule deer, a bunch of raptors, and some pretty little blue birds.
After Brendan shot the coyote he is holding in the above picture, he told me that there is a set of corrals and loading chute, that he uses to skin his coyotes when he is in the area. He said that there is a corner post that he uses. So, we scooted down the dirt 2 track to the post to skin the coyote.
When we got there, we got out of the truck, hooked the TBO Pocket Skinning Grapple onto the post, then the coyote, and Brendan went to work. While he was skinning, I had been watching the area around us. We were talking, opening and closing doors, getting equipment out of the truck.
I had seen some cows out in a pasture about a mile away, so I checked them out with my scope, but didn't see anything other than cows. I went back to talking to Brendan about how good a day it had been. When I looked again out into the pasture, I noticed a dark spot where there was not one before, I grabbed the scope, and looked, it was a coyote, about 1/2 mile away. I said "There is a Stinking Coyote?" Brendan says where, so I pointed it out to him. He says to me, grab your shooting sticks and go stalk out there and kill it!! He also told me that he expected to hear a bang-splat. I said OK! and off I went.
As I was walking out to the location, I worked the terrain, and the wind, which was not a problem, because it was coming from my left to right. So I walked keeping the hills in between me and the coyote, and I was down wind of it also. I walked slowly and quietly.
When I got to the place where I thought the coyote was, I hunkered down and slowly walked over a small ridge, and sat in front of a sagebrush, the sun was to my back, I sat in the shade.
I began to glass the whole area, but I didn't see the coyote any longer. I looked out where the cows were, still a half mile away. Still nothing! I thought to myself, I will try to call the coyote.
I pulled out the new call that Matt had given me. A new re-designed Mossback Game Calls Matt Askew Series Bounty Hunter Coyote Call Varmint Distress.
Matt Askew is my Friend, a Team TBO ProStaff, and the new Call Designer, ProStaff Manager, Associate Guide for Mossback Game Calls, working for Weston and Jodi Clark.
The Bounty Hunter is the Blue Call.
The new Bounty Hunter cut through the 7 to 9 mph wind, doing it's job, calling the coyote.
After the first series of calls, I saw some little birds fly out of the sage on my right side (downwind) and out about 30 yards, so I was looking for a coyote to step out, when all of a sudden a huge hawk come over the sage, right at my head, luckily for me it diverted away at the very last moment.
Series 2, nothing. Series 3, I changed it up a little, I chocked down on the reed, making it higher pitched, after a couple minutes of calling that way, I see movement to my left side (upwind), about 100 yards out in front of me, at the bottom of the hill I was sitting on.
The coyote came out of the sage on a trot. I got my scope on her, I then barked to stop her, she only slowed, but was still moving. I thought to myself, I have to shoot before it gets out of sight and it circles around downwind.
I put the crosshairs in front of her chest, and pulled the trigger, all I saw was her go head over tea kettle, down right there.
The Mossback Bounty Hunter Call
I grabbed the call and went to doing a hurt pup distress for a couple three minutes. But nothing showed up or howled me.
I got up, went down the hill and found the coyote in the tall grass. I pulled out my 4 noose TBO Game Carrier, hooked her up, put it over my shoulder and began the long trek back to the truck. You can see me with the TBO Game Carrier, and the Outlaw Sling in the picture above.
As I was walking back to the truck, I saw Brendan walking toward me, he met me about half way back, and helped me pack the dog to the truck. When we got back to the truck, we were going to skin it right there, but she was all dirty, so since we had called it a day, we would take her home and hose her down, then skin it out.
I have a new favorite; the new re-designed Mossback Bounty Hunter. I have confidence in both of these calls, because I have expereince with them calling coyotes. I will be carrying them both.

The pelts were already furred up, but the pelt was still blue, with white blotches here and there. but good enough to skin and tan to hang in the man cave.
Thank You for reading this, I hope you enjoyed this story.

I went out with my hunting partner today since it seemed like as good a day as any to start- cooling off being the main factor. We called in one with the Rubber Rabbit 3 minutes into the first stand. I knew the first time I blew it a few months ago when I bought it that it was a good call. I was excited to use it. Unfortunately, I didn't bring my shotgun and that dog was under 25 yds. I missed, and was not happy. Anyway, we moved on. We got some to talk to us on the second stand but couldn't close the deal. On the third stand, I hit pay dirt with one that came in at about 100 yards and milled around for a bit before I dropped him. It was a young male. On the fourth, nothing at all. And on the 5th, Gary blew a different call since I wanted a break but got one in all the same. A little female. With all the antelope hunters out there, we felt very lucky, so called it a day. I guess the Rubber Rabbit gets to stay
