Hey Y'all, I have owned a black powder rifle since 1987, and I have not killed anything with it, other than paper, and other kinds of targets. My rifle is a TC Hawkens 54 cal. It will shoot roundballs really well. I have shot Buffalo Bullets, Maxi Bullets, I have even tried sabotted 44 cal pistol bullets, none of which would shoot very well, until I tried the Hornaday Plains Bullets, they shot pretty well, about 2.5 inches at 100 yards, not great! but better than the other bullets I have tried. But! I have seen on TV, people shooting the Powerbelt bullets, and they seem to shoot good, and have some really good knockdown energy, which got me to thinking. I would really like to shoot something with my rifle, so I think I would like to call and shoot a coyote, or set up a ground blind and a bait station to hunt over. But I don't know if I want to shoot the round ball or get some Powerbelt bullets and use them? What do you all think? Do any of you use the Powerbelt bullets? And what amount of powder do you use? If the Powerbelts work for coyotes, I may go and try to bait a bear and wack it with the Powerbelt. Good Hunting and Shoot Straight! Gary Attachments:
