Yeah stealth, a great old style form of hunting. I remember the adrenalin peaked heart pounding suspense of when I was a youth. As we stalked in on a sleeping Red. With our sighthounds.
Some of my greatest memories were with my Dad & his two buddies. We would spot a long range sleeping Red Fox, then use the terrain features to get us close, to release our dogs.
As we drew near, Dad, Larry & Willard. Would whisper "sick'em" to the sight hounds as they pulled tight on their short leashes. All the while the unsuspecting Red laid up ahead in plain sight.
Those hunts were my 1st experiences at spot/stalking canine predators. Season of 1968 the coyotes moved in. We then turned our focus on them.
Both canine's behaviors & abilities have taught me much over the yrs. Through my own trials & errors I've made in tactics, as the yrs rolled on by. Which only improved my tactics the older I become.
