Calling bears works..my first

Part of the attraction, (to me) of buying our retirement home on the Oregon coast was that there had been bears spotted in the front yard. I went 100 yards behind the house into the national forest, sat down, waited awhile for the woods to settle down the started blowing my cheapo mouth blown cow elk call in distress. This bruin came waddling down the hill and tried to circle down wind. I put 2 quick shots outta my BAR '06 in him as he lifted his nose to smell me. Went about 30 yards and piled up dead as puppy-love. My first bear! Weighted an honest 225# on the meat cutter's scales...The neighbors can sleep well tonight!













Next trip I'm looking forward to is going to Idaho to shoot rockchucks with Cousin Predatortoprey... I'll have a skull & penile bone for his meat eating beetles.

Way to go Bill, I was hoping that you would let the air out of a bruin before you came this way next week. I have six bear heads in the works but there is aways hungry beetles. Great picks! Can't wait to hear the whole story. See you Thursday.

Glad to hear that, Cuz. I'm really amped about seeing your country & getting in some carnage with my favorite cousin on Dad's side ...After he was skinned I kept thinking about that expression of yours...It really looked like the "air was let out of him"
