I would like to share a little info and service on European Skulls. I own and operate Predator to Prey Skull Cleaning. I have been cleaning skulls for a few years and have found that using beetles for the task in cleaning, gives to a more detailed skull and a finer looking display of your trophies. I still revert back to the macerate method if the skull is spoiled or just can’t be placed into the beetle population.
I use Dermestid beetles that are housed in a controlled environment to promote healthy colonies for quicker skull cleaning of your hard earned trophies and mounts. You would think that a bug that is eating dead animals is very hardy but that is just the opposite. These little bugs are very susceptible to temperatures, molds, mites from all types of flies and spoiled meat/skulls.
I am flexible in the process of the skull cleaning, as I have found that some sportsman, like to have their skulls cleaned by the beetles but would like to do the whitening process on their own. I am more than happy to explain the peroxide and whiting process for those that are the do it your self types. Or as I do for many, the complete process and you get back a ready to display mount with no chemical mess. This leads to more time in the field looking for the next predator or prey to add to your collection.
Here is a few of the skulls that are in the process of being cleaned and or whitened in the shop at this time.
This is a feral hog that came out a high fence ranch in central Oregon along with a large beaver.
This is a nice Antelope buck from Idaho Unit 32 youth hunt last fall. Just about ready to be dipped into the peroxide and the whitening. I know this young man is ready to hang this speed goat up in his room and remember back to the few seconds that seemed like hours in putting a killing shot into his controlled hunt on a Idaho Pronghorn.
This Black Bear skull is going into the peroxide solution in the morning and will be finished in about two more weeks and ready to hang on the wall. Nice Idaho black bear.
If you are interested in European Skulls and are needing more information or pricing on your skulls, please call me at 208-740-7331.
