hey there folks! My name is TJ, I am new to hunting and I am very interested in varmint/predator hunting. I have absoutely no clues on where to go for this sort of thing, but I am confident I could figure it out! I do work full-time, but I do have a great amount of flexibility to get out and do some hunting. I will be registering for the whistlepig tourney this Saturday. I am very excited for that too! I hope to be able to meet one and all of you folks. Maybe someone could show me what the heck I am doing! Although I am new to hunting, firearms have been a passion of mine, so I believe I have more than enough tools for the job(s), but I'm certain I can always acquire more! If someone would not mind showing me some tricks of the trade, I sure would appreciate it! Please let me know. I look forward to meeting with all of you. Thanks again.

Hello TJ,
Welcome to the IVH Forums. We are glad you found us. We like Rookies.
If you are not busy tomorrow evening, we have our monthly club meeting at 7pm at the Smoky Mountain Pizzeria on Fairview in Meridian. Corner of N. Lakes Place and Fairview Ave. You can then meet most of us at the meeting, make some connections, and get out to hunt critters.
We look forward to see you at the Whistlepig Tournament also. It is so much fun! We will do registration on Saturday Morning between 6-7AM, then you are free to go hunting, until before 6PM, when you have to be on the checked in list at the weigh-in.
If you have a 22LR and a good small caliber centerfire rifle, like a 223, 22-250, 243, 6MM, or any variation of those, you are good to go.
Shooting Stix, Camo Clothing (including face mask, and gloves) a butt pad, binos, TBO Outlaw Sling, TBO Game Carriers, TBO Drags, TBO Skinning Grapple, and if you know how to make calls, a few distress hand calls, if you don't know how, then not neccessary till you have learned!
I am sure we can drag you along, and show you a few things, I don't see that as a problem. Come down to the meeting tomorrow evening.
How old a fella are you? What area do you live?
Later, Gary
