I do believe she had her pups the other day. As I haven't seen her since.

I expect to see her pups in another month or so, Kenny. They are a hoot to watch. A litter last yr, let me get mighty close for pics. One pup I got to within 6'. When they are around 10wks old. They either go off in small groups or alone & hunt. Generally traveling out a 1/4 mile or so from the den site. Their nose skimming the ground as they travel along. Prior to going off alone or with other yearling pups. They'll have a parent close by when they are out & about learning & discovering.

What a treat to have close by to watch life happen. It isn't always about shooting or killing, but about seeing life. Good for you!

Indeed they can, once I had some pheasants in the back corner of my yard out in the country. I fed them dried corn just so I could watch them interact. I got a real treat one day when two males were fighting, they were brutal with each other. Ocassionally I would get a red fox come up and munch also.
I would just sit on the patio and watch them, they were my pets. I look forward to seeing more photos of the pups.

Here is another Red den site, I've been watching. Once the female gets heavy laden. She will typically come out of the den to stretch & do her bodily funtions. Otherwise not straying far at all. The male spends his time hunting & dropping food near the den hole. Here a coon didn't fare so well. Lb for lb, a Red is an awesome little fighter. Quick as a cat in it's relfex's. Reds also have some of the longest canine fangs you'll ever see. For such a small animal. The other evening I sat by the other den site for a long while. Seen the female pop her head out, before completely coming out. She seen me & ducked back in. Not sure if she already dropped her pups yet or not?

No sign of pups yet from either den, Kenny. Probably be another 2-3wks or so.
