Hunkered down in a terrace snow drift, out near the 1/2 mile fenceline. See him? he is bedded just right of the lone tree ;D zoomed in Danged if I didn't miss @ 146yrds[stepped off]. In fact I couldn't even find where my bullet hit[what the frankenhimer!]. I barked coyote raised it's head. I could see the tops of his ears. Lowered my aim & shot. Afterwards I went to do some T-shooting to check my zero. Re-set zero, back at it tommarow.

thanks for the pics leper, it blows my mind that you have so many pics of foxes and yotes just laying out in the snow on these terrace snow drifts, it makes me wonder how many I have driven past! Thanks for the info. I am going to have to pay attention to these drifts a little more now.

I always see them on the down-wind slopes, silverback. The ones that aren't on the down-wind. Are in transient from one down-wind area to the next. Samo...samo.

A prime example of what I remarked above, silverback. The coyote I missed above. Ran roughly 1/2 mile though some rolling foothills. Then sat down on another down-wind slope. Looking back towards where it was previously bedded. Most coyotes [if they don't see the hunter/shooter]. Will not go farther than a mile. From where they were origionally. Some only go around 1/4 mile. Others around 1/2 mile away or so.
