I the new guy here and have been reading some of your posts and it looks to me like you guys like to have fun and eat.. ;D..my kind of guys.
I have been searching information on coyote hunting for a few months now and am getting close to going out as soon as the roads dry out some in the Owyhees.
I know you can only learn so much from printed material, then you have to get out there and go for it. I use to hunt most of Southern Idaho years ago, but then got away from it for other interests. Like kids and a business.
Well the kids are grown now and the business was sold, so now I have lots of time to go after wiley coyote. I am hoping to find someone who wouldn't mind helping out an newbie on a hunt.
I would imagine there are others here that are retired and getting cabin fever having the need to get out.
Thanks for all you guys do!
Kenny

Hello Kenny, Welcome to IVH. We are glad to have you here. You are right about the gang! We like to get together and shoot the BS and eat. We will in the spring and early summer get together and shoot squirrels and hunt badgers. While we are out we will either have a tailgate lunch or we will BBQ. We have our tournaments we always have food at those also, and each month we have our meetings at an eatery of one sort or another. The February meeting will be at a new eatery - the Smokey Mountain Pizzeria on Fairview in Meridian - Loren and I sampled the table fare and found it quite good. I like your attitude about learning from printed materials, but the proof is in the pudding by going and putting it into practice. The more time you put into it the better you get, the more your learn about your quarry. I would be glad to go hunting with you. We are a eclectic group of guys, we range from late 20's to 70 years old. Most of us are retired or self employed. But we all get along great, and have alot of good conversation and fun. There are a bunch of the guys that have time to go hunting, come to a club meeting and meet the gang, get to know us, and make some connections, and set up some hunting days. It might be a little tough to get off road right now, until it freezes up again or dries out Come to the SFW Idaho Rendezvous on January 28th at 7PM and check out the calling competition, and banquet. You can purchase your banquet tickets at sfwidaho.orgYou will be able to hear what other guys sound like when they are calling coyotes. We will then register everyone that wants to sign up for the Idaho Coyote Classic - coyote calling contest - this takes place on Saturday January 29th from sunrise to sunset one day hunt. All the info for the hunt is found on this forum in the Events forums. Hope to see you at the meeting or the Rendezvous, find me and introduce yourself. Thanks Again. Gary

Gary,
Thank you for the prompt reply and invite. I can already tell this is going to be a great place to enjoy the camaraderie of other guys and share hunting stories (lies?) ;D well okay maybe just some embellishment.
thanks again,
Kenny

Gary,
I sent you a PM this morning but not sure if you got it. Drop me a line when you get a chance and perhaps we can meet up for coffee or lunch.
