Cowboys: The Squaw Butte Regulators will soon be starting the 2011 scheduled monthly matches.
Mike Kucera, Broken Flats Mike, has for the last three or four years been the primary person who has handled the monthly matches. Mike retired from work in December 2010 and will no longer be involved in or responsible for the monthly matches.
Mike informed the cowboys attending the matches of this pending change for the last three or four months of the scheduled matches before the winter shut down. As of this date, no one has stepped forward to take over the responsibilities for the monthly matches.
The requirements for getting the target trailer from the storage area is a vehicle with a 2" trailer ball and capable of pulling the trailer. The trailer storage area is at my place and I live about 3/4 mile from the range so the pull distance is not great. Other duties would be to plan and set up the stages, handle registration, target take down, return the trailer to the storage area, and all the other duties involved in setting up monthly matches.
The major responsibility is to be there for each scheduled match or make arrangements for someone else to take over.
There are several options available for the cowboy matches. First, is to continue the scheduled matches on the first Sunday and second Saturday of each month as in the past. Second, would be for one person responsible for Sunday and another for Saturday. Third, is to change the schedule to one match a month on either Sunday or Saturday. Fourth, is to discontinue the cowboy matches
The first scheduled cowboy match is Sunday, March 6 so there is not much time for the necessary arrangements to be made. If you are interested in taking over the match responsibilities and have any questions or suggestions about the matches, give me a call at 365-4551 or e-mail at lemett@mettler.ws.
