Merry Christmas Bob! Got a new .22lr and waiting on a suppressor to try out next time I'm down there for the Whistle Pigs. Bought a CZ Pro Varmint and at 59yards with expensive ammo it shot 5 at 3/8", I had one group of 5 of Mini Mags do 1/2" at 59 yards though earlier groups were not as kind. Still breaking in.

Did Santa bring it to you? CZ's are good guns. Mini mags used to be my favorite .22 ammo until it got to high priced.

The wife and I are at an age and have enough stuff that we do not give each other gifts, even for birthdays. If we want something we more or less go get it for ourselves. We, for the most part, are pretty good to not go overboard. Threaded barrel and I have purchased a suppressor but it will be a few more months till I get it. They just switched to E-verify so now 90 days. When I did it and it still stands, about 200 days, I think, done electronically and paper and I still have some time to go. And the best 5 shot mini mag group. It was starting to group better the more I shot it. This is at 59yds. I'd been loading up on Mini Mags for a while when on sale so I'm in fair shape and have continued to buy others, not as accurate ammo, when it is somewhat priced ok, and still more than any of the Mini Mag I purchased before prices went stupid. And this was at 59yds with Lapua Center X, which I've only bought one box to try on another gun. Way too expensive to shoot daily.

Those are some good groups. Looks like the whistle pigs are in trouble. I bought a new to me gun for myself. It's a Savage mod.24 over & under. .222 over 3"20ga. I haven't shot it yet. Put a scope on it but the rings are too low so I had to order different ones. I'll probably change those out today. I'm hoping it will make a good gun for coyote stands.

I remember those coming out when I was a kid. My buddy had, I think, .22lr over a .410 shotgun. Not sure but I think. .222, may be hard to find ammo?
You were talking about Mini Mags getting expensive. I bought when on sale when around .06 and possibly .07 cents each so I'm fairly stocked for a while. Just saw them for .1499 ea on sale yesterday. Wow.

.222 can be hard to find but not as bad as some others. I've had a .222 for years, it's one of my favorite cartridges. I reload for it so I have plenty of brass and ammo. It's a super accurate cartridge and when you get right down to it you can't really tell much difference in it and the .223 in the field. They made a lot of variations of the Savage 24, even a .357 over 20 ga.

Good news you have the brass!
How are you guys on reloading stuff? I'm looking for a box or two of Nosler Partitions 7mm in 150 grain and cannot find any. Would you keep an eye out for some as I think I'm down to 7 loaded rounds, just enough for a run for black bear and deer season this fall but I like to have a bit more than that. My daughter is back in Mountain Home and I could possibly have her go buy them if you find them. Also looking for a pound of H4350 as I'm using IMR4350 but it has a velocity swing as the temperatures go up and down and want to do some load development with it.

A few things are starting to show up but not nowhere like normal. I've seen a few bullets and some powder. Primers are still almost impossible to find. I'll keep an eye out for the 7 m/m bullets.

I have lots of other 7mm bullets, mainly just looking for the 150 grain Partitions. If things don't straighten out I have some other loads I can use with Barnes TTSX. Very accurate but mainly pencil in and pencil out. I think the Nosler Partitions will drop them faster. I have some 160 grain Federal Trophy Bonded, currently my favorite bullet but they do not make them in 150's for 7mm. I like velocity around 3000fps and with 150's that's about right.

Partitions are good bullets. Most of the bullets I've seen coming back on the shelves have been Hornady. At least around here.

Partitions are good bullets. Most of the bullets I've seen coming back on the shelves have been Hornady. At least around here. And with a hefty price tag. V-max around here are about .25/ea now for 40 to 55 grainers. Nosler pricing is even worse, but that is my 7mm load at this time that I want to hunt with. 50 bullets for what I'm looking at for the 7mm, the partitions are nearly 70.00 for 50ea, if you can find a box.
