Broper, isn't that what you had when we went shooting with you? Long story but I ended up with a, you might want to be sitting for this, a 7mm Ruger #1 Varmint (7mm is not my normal varmint rifle) rifle and a more normal caliber 22-250 varmint rifle. Always wanted one and a couple came up at an estate sale. The 7mm is in real good shape with a couple flaws, the 22-250 is near flawless and both came with Leupolds on top, the 7mm having the better of the two. The 22-250 has a standard VXIII 4.5-14x40(or 42 I don't remember) scope. The 7mm I think is a target turret 6.5-20x50 VXIII that is no longer made. The stocks are beautiful.

Yes, mine is a .218 Bee. I love that gun, it is one of my most accurate. I named it Deadly Do Right. Ruger did put some nice wood on some of their guns in the past. I have the Leupold VXIII 4.5-14x on my Rem. 788 22/250. Very good scope vor varmints. I think you'll enjoy those rifles, especially the 22/250.

Nope. Haven't even cleaned the brass I picked up in the same buy. Just got the dies for the 22-250. The 7mm, I'll probably shoot some of my hunting loads that work in my hunting rifle and see how they go.

Was just looking at loads for the 22-250. With 40 grain and some CFE223, 4300fps? Wow. I've got quite a bit of CFE223. That will be an interesting round to shoot. My .243 is just under 3800fps with a 58 grainer.

Yeah, I have shot a few 40's in mine. Fun to shoot and very explosive but they can be barrel burners if you feed it a steady diet. I prefer 55 gr. in 22/250 or sometimes 50 gr. Still get plenty of speed and red mist. The 22/250 is my favorite all around varmint cartridge. In a pinch it can be used for antelope and deer.

I know they can be barrel burners, unfortunately, but the force is strong with that one. I really want to do a few loads of 40 grain. Shooting 4300fps really sounds fun, at least for a few.

Yeah, it's fun and it won't hurt to shoot a few once in awhile. I just wouldn't feed it a steady diet of them. When you shoot them it seems like the hit the target before you hear the shot. I'm going to try a few on rock chucks.

Brass is clean and ready to load the 22-250. Been working on taxes as it will be complicated this year. Had to work on a couple rentals last year and one went real bad with not paying and ruining all the kitchen appliances so lots of bills to put in for the profit and loss statement. Been itching to go shooting as I've got some ladders made and not even sure which guns I'm looking for loads in with the exception of my 7mm I'm trying to find a Nosler Partition load since it has been so long since I made them. I've done one Partition in the past but my gun likes the Barnes TTSX better but I really think for where I shoot the Partition would be a better choice.
