That's too bad, I have just recently gotten into coyote and varmint hunting and really enjoy it. It is weird that I can reply on this thread, but not the others. Don't know what the difference is, but I can't post on any other thread that I have tried. Btw, my email is firebybob-at-sitestar-dot-net.

You can go ahead and post whatever you want here. Nobody is active anyway so it doesn't really matter. I like to hunt coyotes but can't seem to get anybody to go with me anymore. I don't walk as good as I used to and have to use a walking stick to keep from falling on my face. I still like to get pout after 'em though, just takes me longer. I have a good friend, Gary, that likes to go but his wife is not in too good a health and he can't get away to o often. The coyote season is winding down right about now. They are breeding and soon the females will be denning up. They are a lot harder to call now. Al so they will start rubbing and losing their winter coat soon. There are a few guys that hunt all year though. Ground squirrels are just coming out now and will be out until it starts getting hot. Rock chucks will be out by April, they're a lot of fun to shoot. Then there's badgers and the occasional jack rabbit. If you go up north the Columbian ground squirrels will be coming out in about a month or month and a half. Once in a while we'll run across a coyote while we're out in the field and we'll get a shot at it. Where abouts are you located?

I'm south of Melba. I've been shooting both ground squirrels and rockchucks already. Started seen the rockchucks the first week of January. Went squirrel shooting for the first time this year last Friday. Only saw about a dozen, hit four. I'm hoping it's a better year for them than last year. I went coyote hunting on Monday, but the only thing I was able to do was get three or four of them to howl back at me. Never saw them though. I'm trying to figure out how to post a picture, but so far no luck. I'll keep working at it.

Yeah, the squirrels aren't out in full force yet. Surprised you're seeing rock chucks this early. Coyotes a hard to call in this time of year. Try female invitation howls nor female estrus calls.

This is a rockchuck that I shot at 230 yards just the other day. I tried hittting another one at 385 yards, but I shot about 3" low. Next time....

Picture didn't show. Yeah, I'd Like to get together and shoot some squirrels. Tonight though the weather guesser said there's a chance of rain every day for a week. Significate amounts some days. Might make it to messy to to get out.
