I've been having a bit more time off than usual since I'm between jobs, we still have a lot on the books but they are not going at the moment, so I went to one of our Washington State hearings on some anti-2nd Amendment gun legislation that they are most likely going to pass.
The first one is the extra steps like classes and another registration to be able to purchase a gun, on top of the Federal Nics and a 10 day waiting period for semi-autos, now it will be 10 day minimum for all guns.
The second bad bill was a so-called Assault Weapons Ban that encompasses all kinds of things including anything with a threaded barrel, thumbhole stock, anything that scares them such as a pistol type handle on a rifle. We already have a magazine ban.
What I learned was that the anti-2nd Amendment crowd are well funded and organized since over 1/2 the people there, Grandmas against Guns, took up about 1/2 the seats in the place, or more, and sitting next to one of them wearing a mask to make sure she didn't get any Constitutional Cooties on her, she didn't know much about anything about guns, laws or truth but did have her talking point that nobody needs an assault type weapon as she was becoming rabid. I told her they are not weapons of war as they do not have the same function of a 3 round burst nor are they fully automatic. I also told her about the SCOTUS cases of Bruen, Heller and Caetano and how judge Benitez in California is about to rule the magazine ban, so-called Assault Weapon ban and other things non Constitutional. She didn't know about any of those or how the 2nd Amendment works from those rulings of "In Current Use" that makes them legal from the Heller and Bruen decisions. Didn't care.
So currently the new bad laws moving forward as the Governor's wife also spoke on both topics and we have a very liberal legislature that loves anything liberal and freedom robbing and loves anything the governor and the horrible AG, whom is worse than the governor, the love anything they like and these were brought about by the suggestions of the Governor and AG as they said they would encourage and protect these bad laws from Constitutional loving Americans that were not for them.

Hello Shawn,
Glad to see you're keeping on top of what the anti's are doing. We have stay alert and fight what they're trying to do to our 2nd amendment rights. Fortunately Idaho isn't as bad as Washington. But we still need to keep on our toes. Good to se you posting, wish we could get this forum back to what it once was but I think it's about washed up. Nobody seems to care. I think it's finally going to warm up a little around here. Maybe I can get out and shoot a few chucks. Seems like winter just hasn't wanted to loose it's grip.
