Bob and i went whistlepiggin this morning! We shot a few squirrels but not and abundance of them, As we were going along a dirt 2 track out in the desert, I saw a couple fresh badger digs off the side of the road, so I told Bob to stop and I was looking at the mounds, Bob said he wished a badger would poke it's head out, then he did a chirping whistle, he then began to move forward, just at that moment i spotted a badger head pop up over the mound, all I had was my Ruger 10-22 LR, so I put the crosshair right on it's head between the eyes and pop, i hit it just off center, but dumped it like a sack of taters. It slid back down the hole, and had to have to badger hook to reach down the hole to fetch it out, and then I forgot to take a picture of it, big dummy!!!
OH Well! We got the vital stats for you though! Here they are!
Date: June 17, 2020
Weight: Female 14.13 lbs
Time: 10 AM
Distance: 17 yards.
After spending nearly 4 weeks in the hospital, it was very nice to get out and get some fresh air and out into the desert, a day without being in the desert is like not being alive for me! After a more than a month of no shooting, I was beginning to think I was not going to get to go again, but with Bob around, that is not very possible! He is always wanting to go hunting or shooting or just for a ride to get out of the house! He already has plans for several trips to shoot Colombian ground squirrels, and a badger hunting trip! I very much appreciate Bob and all he has done for me during my illness! He is going to help me get well quickly!! Thank You Bob!!
