Not many cottontails aroubd here or jacks either. I wish the rabbits would come back, that would really help the coyote population. You should try a centerfire on whistle pigs sometime. It's hard to go back to a rimfire after using a centerfire. But as the whistle pigs start coming out more we we turn more to the rinfires. When you shooting at 200 or 300 a day centerfires are a bit much. We usually stil take at least one centerfire along, never know when you're going to run across a badger or coyote.

Oh yah, I'm with you on having a centerfire handy. By the time we get down there they are out in a fair amount so it has to be rimfire, a couple each, as they get hot and need to cool.

Looks like this will be the first varmint trip I'll miss since I started going. We, the son-in-law and myself, hit Idaho for 3 days and Montana for 3 days and Montana has a 2 week quarantine on out of state people coming in. Don't have 2 weeks to quarantine to go out for 3 days.
Wife is happy since now I have time to change her 30 year old carpet. She calls that the silver lining.

Just got notice last night Idaho is on the same 14 day quarantine for people out of state. Was toying with just doing a half week trip but that is out too. Wife is even more excited for new carpet this morning so it is in concrete, new carpet, no sneaking away for hunting, of anything.
I do know where I could do some actual coyote hunting but too late now to fit in. I also have a new top handle chainsaw and some new tree climbing gear on the way as I have a bunch of trees around the house I'll have to cut down and have to do it like the tree guys do, a piece at a time since I do not have anywhere in my yard to fall most of them with power lines, neighbor's fences and trees blocking the direction I need to fall. And I need firewood for next season as I only have enough now for this coming season. Always stuff to do.

I didn't even know about Idaho's quarantine. Man, this virus thing has everything messed up. The politicians and media have got it blown clear out of proportion. I'll be glad when things get back to normal. I've heard that there are some rock chucks around Okanagan. Read about guys shooting them in the orchards.

I agree, this thing is taken way out of proportion. I've been working every day but sounds like it is about to come to an end as our governor has extended the no business order past May 4th, why, because he is a liberal that cannot get enough power and is looking to get the state its first income tax. We already have a high sales tax and one of the highest fuel tax in the nation but his appetite for taxes and control of the citizens is insatiable. I want to move from this state in the worst way but have to stick it out at least another 5 years. We have a couple rentals and we do all the work on them so that may keep me from moving too. We will see. I want to move to Idaho or Montana, wife not quite there yet. Currently changing our 30 year old carpet. Every screw in the floor I put 30 years ago was loose since the wood has since dried out immensely.

Our governor started opening things up tpday. Lifted the stay at home order. He has a 4 phase plan, things won't be completely back to noemal until June 16th. But at least it's starting.

Ours, who I have great disdain for, has locked us down another month. I'll be working for another contractor at least for 3 days as the one I normally work for has to have the general contractor figure out what the latest bs is that we have to do to work. Even for Monday I have to wear a mask though working on a floor to myself installing grid ceilings. So stupid. We have almost no cases in our county.
