Just introducing myself, my name is Luke I live in Nampa. Grew up in Kuna, and have wanted to get more serious in predator/varmint hunting. My work keeps me busy during big game hunting times, so my concession is to get out from October to March in some predator/varmint hunting as well as summer. I've hunted varmints growing up but never got into actively hunting coyotes, foxes and badgers.
I'll keep watch on the meetings to start to get to know some people, and try and find some hunting partners that are willing to show me some techniques. Willing to learn and have been around guns my whole life.
My predator/varmint oriented rifle calibers are currently: .22lr, .17hmr, .223, 6.8 SPC II.
Currently, I like to hunt whistle pigs, gophers and rock chucks and have seen some badgers on the BLM ground between Middleton and Emmett east of Emmett rd. I've also hunted long ago out Swan Falls road south of Kuna but boundaries have changed out there with the birds of prey. Want to start scouting/looking out in the Murphy area BLM ground from there to Marsing as there is a lot of ground to cover, and should be good opportunities out there.
Just signed up for the yearly membership. Thank you to all who put this board together and keep it running.

Hi Luke, Glad to have you as a new member of the club. Our meetings are the second Tues. of each month in Middleton at the sunrise Café. The meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. but everybody starts getting there around 6:00. We have dinner and visit before the meeting. Every Wed, at 11:00 we meet at Tom's Cabin in Emmett for lunch and b.s, It's not a formal meeting, just a social gathering. You're welcome to both, and families are welcome. Look forward to meeting you.
Bob

Luke, There are coyotes in that area you're talking about but it gets worked over pretty good. That whole area along hiway 78. You need to get deeper in to the Owyhees, Get yourself some goods maps that show BLM land. If you can get a GPS with the Onyx hunt map s.d. card for Idaho. That will show you what is BLM, and what is private land. Coyote hunting isn't to good this time of year/
