Long story longer, I have a Ruger 10/22 that had the stock 16" blued barrel so I bought another 18" Ruger stainless barrel looking for more accuracy. Didn't find it and it actually got just a little worse. Was casually looking at higher end barrels and mentioned it on another forum. Got a PM that for a real bargain I could have a Shilen Bentz Match barrel. Asked if it would fit the stock stock, and he mentions he would throw in a stock he finished that fit it. Haven't shot it yet but really can hardly wait to try. I've changed scopes now too but this is the Nikon in the picture as I have never liked the Nikon 4-12 Rimfire scope though I have Nikons on nearly everything else and love them, just not the rimfire scope. It is now sporting a Bushnell AR drop zone in 3-12.  |

Data is in, 1/2" at 53 yards with Mini Mags with the Shilen 10/22 barrel. Even Federal Champion bulk was 3/4" for the very first 5 shots out of the gun. Beats the 1-1/2" to 2" from the stock Ruger barrels with almost all ammo as I had two different barrels on the 10/22 before the Shilen.

That I am. It will take a little more coordinating since my daughter has moved from Mountain Home to Virgina, but me and one of the other son-in-laws are thinking about still showing for a few days and just putting up in a hotel, maybe May, and getting back to business of helping them see their 72 virgins after a few days of doing somewhat the same in Montana.

I was about ready to throw mine away because of the lack of accuracy till I got the Shilen barrel. I'm somewhat an accuracy nut so this was the cure.
