I wouldn't hold my breath on us ever having a season - it looks as if the Montana Judge has it under his magnifying glass again!
Besides, the Northwest Nationals is a "coyote" calling contest. If you kill a wolf, you will have your own prize in itself! Just make sure it is legal to shoot!

I am excited and ready to hunt this up coming Northwest Nationals! You guys and ladies have always put on a great hunt. October will be deer month but I will be scoutng coyotes and saving the good spots for the contest. I am thinking,,, ok 5-7 on day one maybe 7-9, dang that would be sweet. Then another 2-4 second day, maybe more than that, really sweeet! Ok 8-10 coyotes for two days, I gotta beat John and Rich with that!! The title is mine! The Shippy's remember those guys, I gotta get the truck bed filled up if they show up!

I think this year is going to be exciting. We are going to have some really good prizes and trophies for the winners - IT'S GOING TO BE FUN! I almost forgot, we are going to have some good food for the banquet also!!!
I am right there with you on the number of dogs that will win - 8-10. If there are more, I would be completely impressed!

Calling seems to always be good in November. The coyotes clean up deer and elk gut piles during October and have plenty to eat. November rolls in and coyotes have to start defending for themselves, calling is pretty responsive. Taking doubles and sometimes a triple at one stand happens a lot in November. I am looking forward to a great hunt. There is no reason for out of state coyote hunters to miss this one. Northwest Nationals! That's huge! I always think big, YES 8-10 coyotes is my goal. Usually when you count the missed shots or the where the heck did he come from! that adds up to what I should have had. I always have a great time hunting ole willey coyote!! The calling competitions add adrenaline and excitement to the mix! Thanks always Idaho Varmint Hunters for hosting this hunt.
