Hello everyone... I'm new to Eagle Idaho, i already have my hunting license and wanted to go out and shoot some rabbits/doves/ducks or just some plinking, but haven't found anything around my area. Hopefully i can tag along with someone here or be guided in the right direction. I apologize if I'm writing this in the wrong section.

Hi Izzy, Welcome to the forums. It's hard to get started in a new area. To start with go to sporting goods or Walmart and get Delorme Atlas & Gazetteer for Idaho. Loo for for BLM lands. Then think about coming to our meetings every month. We also meet every Wednesday for lunch and b.s. at Toms Cabin in Emmett. Come to one or the other or both if you can. Intro duce yourself and talk to everyone. make yourself known. You won't learn much at first but keep coming, get acquainted. This weekend is our North West Nationals coyote tournament. There will be some excellent coyote hunters there. Come to the registration on Thurs. evening and the check in Saturday evening and see how our tournaments operate. Again, introduce yourself, talk and listen. Just don't expect these guys to tell you where they hunt. If you ask that question you'll get weird looks. They might tell you what state they hunt in, that's about it. You have to get known, become familiar, let every body know you're serious then they'll slowly start opening up and you might get invited on a hunt. The main thing to hunt now is coyotes. Bobcat opens in Dec. but they are far and few between. Wolf is open but they're considered big game and you have to have a tag for them. In the spring there will be ground squirrels, badgers, rock chucks and a few other things to hunt. Don't give up keep coming, get acquainted, get involved.
