I mostly hunt open country and almost always use a decoy. Sometimes it is just a feather on a stick and string. sometimes it is a motorized decoy. I have mixed feelings about them. I have had coyotes come to the decoy like they thought it was about to get away. By the same token I have had them leave town as soon as they saw it. Over all, I favor using one.
