We had a great meeting with Bill Bosworth IDF&G Biologist Non-Game Animals, we had a Lasagna and Salad dinner before the meeting began, Our Chef for the evening was Eric Mayer from Varmintor Online Magazine. Bill, talked about ground squirrels, their Latin names,how the Latin names are chosen, and the squirrels distibution within Idaho, and which ones are legal to shoot or hunt, and the areas that is off limits to hunt ground squirrels! At the end of the seminar, There were gifts for everyone that participated in the evening; Eric from Varminter. com (Middleton ID.)Donated Varminter Tee Shirts, Manish Prasad from Wild West Gun Gear Donated Wild West Tee Shirts(Eagle ID.), Idaho Varmint Hunters Tee Shirts, donated & Printed by Eric of Varminter .com, and Timber Butte Outdoors, donated 5 Red River Predator Hand Calls. Was this the meeting to talk about the plague too, and if it is still going and where it is at?
Are you going to post the ok to shoot and not ok to shoot areas?

72camero, If you are going to be shooting in the Mt. Home area, you are good to go! From Emmett to Glenns Ferry, East of the Snake River, is all legal to shoot Piute Ground Squirrels. The areas that are closed are to the South and East, and North of the Payette River, North of Emmett! There is plenty of ground to hunt in the area described above! If you stay in this area, you are all good! Stay out of the shaded areas, they are protected areas! The Brown Shaded area is Federally Protected!
