I was finally able to get out with my 17WSM savage Bmag. The weather wasn't the greatest but there where some whistle pigs out for the occasion anyway. I have it topped with a Mueller 4.5-14x40 and I couldn't be happier with the results. A couple down at over 100yds shooting off a front Sand bag missed one at just over 220 but I think with more trigger time and getting familiar with the ballistics of the bullet it will be a very makable shot. I am looking forward to better weather and getting some more rounds down range with this fine rifle!!

Alright! Get after those whistle pigs, they'll be out in force soon. That should make a good long range whistle pig outfit.

Way to go. I've heard a lot of great things about that scope and I'm glad you like the bigger.17 rimfire.

I'll tell you what I couldn't be happier with the combination of the rifle and scope, very clear optics at all magnifications and with an adjustable AO to boot straight shooting rifle, that packs a wallop everything you could ask for in a varmint rig! Camaro the scope is a pleasure to shoot with I would put it up against my vortex any day, I really like the fine reticle for the long range shooting especially on smaller game like whistle pigs. Broker believ you me I will make every effort possible to get out and put some of those little buggers down. I even bought my wife a savage 17 hmr so she could join me in the cause! And she is loving it, I topped that one with a sweet 17 and that's a formidable combo in itself!!

Well, they should start coming out a little thicker pretty quick. I'll be looking for them at the end of April so do not shoot them all.
I'm right in the middle of changing scopes around on the .22lr from the .17hmr and getting a new Nikon with adjustable AO for the .17hmr. I'm with you on that liking the AO. The Nikon Prostaff rimfire scope, just didn't fit what I do with the .17 and I think the new Nikon Prostaff 5 coming is about the same power as your Mueller.
Shoot straight.

I won't make any promises but I mite miss a few on purpose to leave some for ya! 😉 As far as the your 17HMR I outfitted my wife's with the BSA sweet 17 I believe it is a 3-12x40 with the AO and the bullet matching turrets. It is a lot of scope and makes shooting those 17's a blast! I have a sweet 22 that I had on one of my air rifles and decided to replace it because I felt it was a waste of a fine scope, now I'm looking for a 22lr to put it on.

Hard to beat a 10/22 for ease of use for the ole .22lr. I'm bringing a pre-WW2 peep hole bolt action that is almost as accurate as my scoped .22lr at 50yds. Real long barrel though 16" is about the standard these days, it must be about 22" or 24". Waiting for the new scope for the .17hmr. Had a Nikon rimfire 4-12 but moved it to the 10/22 and upped the power just a little on the .17hmr. I like to see the fear in their eye at 100yds.
When we go shooting I usually get pointed out the longer shots as the son-in-laws usually have the .22lr's going. My daughter will probably take the .17hmr again like she did last year for a day or so, that's why I'm bring a couple .22lr's, as the pistol was good but the rifles are better. It's all good.
I'm really getting stoked about going, been a year and that is long enough.
