The Blast from the Past – What a Fantastic Tournament!
October 6-8, 2016
The First Official Adult tournament of the season for the Idaho Varmint Hunters turned out Fantastic to say the least! If you missed this tournament? You missed a barn burner for sure!
We had 11 teams signed up! Teams from all around were present, Nevada, Oregon, and Idaho were all represented during this tournament!
The 2016 BFTP Tournament was a record breaker for IVH. Here how it breaks down! We had several records broken this weekend with:
1) All teams returned to check-in! Awesome! Thank You all!
2) All teams had at least 1 coyote!
3) We had one team with the most coyotes ever brought in! (24)
4) We had a total of 108 coyotes brought in. We had 111 brought in during the Northwest Nationals one year, by more teams!
We want to Thank Don Burch for allowing us to use his brand new shop and yard to hold our tournaments! We really do appreciate him very much!
The winners of the Tournament were:
Big Male Coyote – Team 3 - Don Burch and Joe Schneehagen
Big Female Coyote – Team 2 – Ed Phillips & Nick Hylton
Little Male Coyote – Team 7 – Shad Harrison & Tom Nealy
Little Female Coyote – Team 2 – Ed Phillips & Nick Hylton
1st Place – Team 3 – Don Burch & Joe Schneehagen – 24 coyotes
2nd Place – Team 7 – Shad Harrison & Tom Nealy – 18 coyotes
3rd Place – Team 3 – Gene Wunsch & Shane Carlson – 15 coyotes
There were also team’s that brought in 12, 10, 9, 8, 6, 4, 1, 1.
We had a great time, I sure hope that all the participants also had a great time! This was the first tournament that I (Gary) have hunted in almost 6 years, so for me it was a BLAST, but also frustrating. I had forgotten a lot of my places that I used to call. I would like to Thank Bob Roper for hunting with me, and putting up with my forgetfulness!
We would also like to Thank Eric Mayer from the Varminter Online Magazine (www.varminter.com). Eric come down and checked out the weigh-in and took pictures and did some video for us to use on the forums and Facebook. As sson as I get the pictures and videos from Eric after he does his magic with them, We will get them put us for you all to see!
WHAT A FANTASTIC TOURNAMENT!!! Thank You All!! It was good to see and visit with you all!!
