Just wanted to introduce my self as I am new somewhat to Idaho and varmint hunting in the state. I moved to Idaho almost 3 years ago from Alaska. Went on my first badger hunt yesterday and I did not get one but a friend did get one. Seen about 3 badgers. My rifle of choice for now is my bushmaster varminter. I live in Nampa.
Hope to hear from everyone.
Robert

Hello Robert,
Glad you found us! Welcome to the IVH Forums! And welcome to varmint hunting! It is addictive for sure! Keep after it, you will get that badger soon enough! Bushmaster is a good rifle for badgers, coyotes, rockchucks, etc.... It is a 223/556! What loads/bullets are you shooting out of it! Those badgers are tough critters takes a good hit to Dirtnap them so they don't make it back to a hole! A lot of guys are shooting a 223 for coyotes and chucks.
We have a meeting tomorrow evening in Boise at the Great Wall on Eagle Rd. Meeting starts at 7pm, come early and have a bite to eat! And meet some of the guys!
Later Gary

Right now the load I am using is the 50 grain Hornady v-max. I will be reloading my own rounds soon just to see what my rifle likes best. I will start going to meetingsell but won't be until end of month.
