Hello all, not sure where to put the intro here but here I am. Long time ada/ canyon resident looking to network with fellow V hunters, maybe meet some people that go whistle pig hunting often etc. To show me the lay of the land for places to go....places a guy with a Honda civic and a ridiculously nice Varmint destroyer I named " Cobalt" Jeremy Personal gun of choice: My Remington 700 .223 26" Heavy Barrel, Vortex 6X24 50mm obj. 30mm tube. (Wouldnt want to not see anything) This gun is named Cobalt...after its stock Cobalt....before she got the scope upgraded to the Vortex Viper 6x24-50.

Hello cobalt,
Welcome to the IVH Forums! We are glad you found us! We are always on the lookout for new blood for the club! You should come out and get to know us better! We have a club meeting each month, on the second Tuesday of the month, at 7pm at the Great Wall restaurant on Eagle Road, in the conference room!
We also meet every week on Wednesday at 11am for lunch at the Tom's Cabin Cabin Cafe in Emmett (5 miles west of Emmett, at Hwy 52 and Tom's Cabin Road), this is our weekly get together BS secession. We talk about any thing you want, but just to get together with like minded friends and talk shop! Catch up on what everyone is doing, and what everyone is hunting! All IVH activities are open to the public, you don't have to be a member to sit in, but eventually we will get your membership to the club!
If you live where you say, you should already know that you live fairly close to some really good whistle-pigging! South of you (South of Kuna)is a huge tract of BLM land that you can use, it stretches from Kuna to Grandview/Mt. Home, from the Snake River to the Danskin Mtns to the east, and it is loaded with piggies! I am surprised you don't already know about that land! There is also the Sand Hollow Tract (Pearl Rd), between Sand Hollow and Parma.
Like I tell everyone, there are no magic spots to go, or that we can take you to! Just get a DeLorme Idaho Map Book, find the area that you want to go checkout, then fill your pickup with gas, throw your guns and ammo in the truck, and go explore! That is the best way to do it! You learn the roads and the country that way!
Just a note! Bob and I were out a few days ago, and we didn't see but 6 whistlepigs above ground all day! I think that the whistlepigging is done for this year, it is too hot foe them, so they have gone back down for the rest of the year! They will be back beginning in February/March!

I drive a Honda Civic a little tough to get to a lot of the pigging spots I imagine...so thats a big part of why I'm trying to network....id like to try and meet up, tag along etc...im pretty much new at it all since I have been out of the gun scene for about 20 years im also not limiting myself to pigs, im open to anything that moves that falls in the, destroy it with .223 Vmax world I just don't have the "hunting" experience....since ive been back into guns ( about 3 months now) ive spent a small fortune investing on it and want options for getting out and doing something other than putting rounds through paper.
