I have some good news, some bad news, and some worse news.

The good news is that thanks to your hard work, all four anti-gun measures failed yesterday evening in the U.S. Senate.

Your hundreds of thousands of petitions and phone calls defeated the siren cries of the liberal news media, bent on erasing the Second Amendment.

You defeated President Obama, Hillary Clinton, Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and all their gun control buddies on the Hill.

Hats off to each of you! This is an outstanding accomplishment.

However, the bad news is that two of the bills were watered-down Republican gun control measures that most Republicans supported as a way to show they wanted to "do something."

But the worse news is that the anti-gun crowd hasn’t even slowed down.

TODAY, anti-gun Republican Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) is introducing a so-called “compromise” with rabid anti-gun Democrat Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY)!

“[Senator] Collins has always voted with us,” Schumer boasted. “She has always been willing to compromise.”

Meanwhile, turncoat Republican Senators Pat Toomey (R-PA), Jeff Flake (R-AZ), Kelly Ayotte (R-NH), and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) have already announced they’re working with Collins and Schumer.

A few more weak-kneed Senate Republicans are all Obama needs to bail out his failed gun control legacy.

And a quick look at all the surrender monkeys in the Republican Caucus is enough to make me break into a cold sweat.

We MUST NOT rest on our laurels.

Obama, Hillary, Schumer and their allies are pushing harder than ever to pass gun control, with or without Congress!

And the Schumer/Collins bill is just the start.

Obama is also pushing a backdoor measure to strip millions of senior citizens and U.S. military veterans of their gun rights without any due process whatsoever.

This Social Security Gun Ban is already in the works, and will take a huge step forward on July 5th.

That’s when the Social Security Administration “comment period” ends, and the Obama bureaucrats begin trying to make this gun ban a reality.

This is just the next in a long line of Obama attempts to end-run around Congress.

Just a few months ago your hard work defeated his effort to enact a sweeping ammo ban with the Department of Justice.

Now President Obama is pushing the “Social Security Gun Ban.”

If implemented, it would be the largest gun grab in U.S. history . . .

. . . stripping gun rights from over 4 million Americans without trial or due process!

The deadline is fast approaching and millions of innocent law-abiding senior citizens are depending on you and me to stop this scheme in its tracks.

Sadly, we already know how dangerous this scheme can be.

The Social Security Gun Ban is modeled after the “Veterans Gun Ban” which has already stripped Second Amendment rights from 260,000 of our nation’s heroes without trial.

Yes, Obama has been playing judge and jury with the gun rights of veterans for nearly eight years without due process.

Now, he’s eying Social Security beneficiaries.

His plan is to tie the Social Security system into the anti-gun Brady-NICS database, and dump the names of everyone who receives benefits with the help of a “representative payee” into the gun ban database.

“Representative payees” are often a family member of senior citizens who receive and manage Social Security payments.

Common reasons a senior citizen may be appointed one include:

*** Not being good at balancing a checkbook;

*** Living far from where their mail is delivered and not having a driver’s license;

*** Needing help with complicated government forms.
Here’s how the Social Security Gun Ban works:

If you end up with a “representative payee” for any reason, Obama says that’s the same thing as being “adjudicated mentally incompetent” by a court.

Only there is no court involved at all, just a few government bureaucrats.

Of course, not being good at filling out government forms or balancing a checkbook hardly makes anyone “crazy.”

Yet, that determination will result in ordinary law-abiding senior citizens being referred to the FBI like a criminal, and placed on the NICS “no-guns” database permanently.

Millions of grandparents could instantly and permanently lose their right to self-defense.

No trial. No legal defense. No due process.

President Obama’s people say the Social Security Gun Ban will result in at least 75,000 seniors losing their right to bear arms, EVERY YEAR.

But experts say the true damage will be far greater.

They say this would rapidly impact as many as 4.2 MILLION law-abiding citizens, making it the largest gun grab in U.S. history!

To make matters worse, senior citizens aren’t the only ones who will lose their gun rights.

I’m afraid anyone living in the same apartment or house as someone on the Social Security Gun Ban list could be at risk of having to give up their firearms too.

That’s why it is absolutely vital that you sign your emergency petition to STOP OBAMA’S SOCIAL SECURITY GUN BAN.

Being arbitrarily ruled “incompetent” because you get accounting help is just the first step.

How soon will it be before this anti-gun administration raids private medical records too?

And imagine what happens when they push to implement this same Social Security Gun Ban scheme to Obamacare, Medicare, or any other type of government benefit or assistance.

It’s the anti-gun left’s perfect excuse to strip whole categories of law-abiding Americans of their gun rights.

And they’re picking on those who have the fewest resources available to fight back:

Senior citizens and veterans.

As we’ve already seen, challenging or appealing the so-called “adjudication” could result in benefits being revoked or suspended.

Or, in other words, this would force seniors to give up their Second Amendment rights in order to have income to pay for their basic needs.

This is not only unconstitutional, it’s flat out wrong.

Now, as you know, following the failure of gun control legislation in 2013 and just yesterday, Obama has been attempting to bypass Congress and pass gun control through executive fiat.

The Social Security Gun Ban is one of the “executive actions” Obama originally made back in January.

So far Congress hasn’t lifted a finger to stop it.

But the good news is you and I have a track record of beating Obama’s unconstitutional executive actions on our own, even when Congress fails to.

Because of your activism, the National Association for Gun Rights annihilated Obama’s attempt to ban M855 ammo last year.

Thwarting that ammo ban required nearly 200,000 of your petitions to be hand delivered by NAGR staff.

But we won, beating back the ammo ban.

Unfortunately, Gary, we’ll need at least that many petitions to defeat the Social Security Gun Ban.

And we’re still 120,000 petitions short!
