Yesterday after our Wednesday Bean Day Club Lunch, Bob, Dave and I went out to the sandhills for a little whistlepig'n!
As soon a I drove through the cattle-guard onto the BLM Land; I noticed that someone had dumped their junk off to the side of the main entrance! So I rolled up to Bob's location and told him that I was going to pickup the trash right behind me! So they asked if they could help me! Sure, come on! We picked up a couple mattress cushions, and some chip board from some kind of household furnisher item.
Bob and Dave went on shooting, while tagged along, searching for trash. I picked up cardboard boxes a tire, and old couch, an old futon, old TV parts, cans, bottles, jugs, ect........ These are the pictures of what we picked up, and the load of trash at the end of the day, I had a full load on my pickup, couldn't pack anymore on it, and believe me that there is plenty more to be picked up. I need a bigger pickup or a trailer to load up. There is still a bunch of tires that are out there that need to be picked up! If anyone wants to volunteer to go and pickup a load of trash, please let me know, I will get you garbage bags, and I will tell you where the tires are.
People, all of this trash or junk, can be taken to the Gem County Landfill for free. As long as your vehicle has a 1G (Gem Co.) license plate. There are some exceptions to that, it does cost to drop off household appliances and furnisher, tires, metal items, and yard brush. But, the cost of taking it is small! Compared to the cost of us losing the FREE access to our Public Lands!
Help the Idaho Varmint Hunters to preserve Our Right to use our Public Lands! Help us protect the land by not littering, or blatantly dumping your trash. Do us all a Favor and carry a garbage bag with you, pickup your trash, as well as pick up the trash that has been left by others, until everyone starts to cooperate and police themselves, we will have a problem to deal with accordingly!!
