I went out for a couple days of hunting earlier this week with some good results! A buddy and I hunted coyotes all day Monday and hunted for bear on Tuesday. We had a pair of coyotes respond to my cow horn howler late evening. After talking back and forth with them for awihle they finally decided to show up. My buddy shot one at 175yds and missed a running shot on the other. It was a young female with a fairly decent hide for this part of the country. We hunted most the day on Tuesday glassing clear cuts looking for a hungry boar. Things were pretty slow for most the day, but come evening they picked right up! We were set up looking over a nice meadow with some good berries when this real nice boar came feeding out. He offered me about a 100yd shot that I couldn't pass up:). My Savage rifle came through for me like always! We didn't weigh the bear but I guessed him to be between the 300-350lb range. He measured right at 6' nose to tail. It is always great to be spending time in the outdoors doing what we love!
