Any Thoughts on Living in the Middleton Area?

Hey Folks!

My original plan was to rent an apartment in the the Nampa area, but I've started looking at the Middleton area for a rental, and a possible purchase sometime in the future. I was wondering if anyone has an opinion of the Middleton area? Also, are there varmints in that area (WPigs, etc)?

Any information offered will be greatly appreciated!

Hey Eric,
I think the Middleton area would be a good choice. I sometimes wish I had bought in that area. It is not far from some good whistle pig shooting and badgers also. There's an excellent gun store and gunsmith there too. It's kind of centrally located in Treasure Valley and not quite as populated as Boise or Nampa and Caldwell area. It's kind of a bedroom community for people that commute to Boise for work. It still has the small town, rural feel though. Myself, I think it would be a good choice.

Thanks for your thoughts! I've been looking at the area even closer, and really like some of the NON-CBH neighborhoods. Unlike Nampa, most of the areas up there are a bit more rural, with some breathing room just outside of town.

I'll be up in May for 5 days to check some apartments, and other things out.

Hey Eric,

Middleton would be a great place to settle into! I have been thinking about moving there myself! Middleton is pretty much center between Boise, and Ontario! With Caldwell just a few miles away, and Nampa just beyond Caldwell! Then you can go to Sand Hollow BLM, or you can go toward Emmett on the Emmett Hwy from Middleton to the ACEC BLM Lands, plus other BLM Lands that are in the area! Middleton is close to the Freeway, catch the Freeway and go to the BLM South of Boise.

Thanks for the info, Gary! I'm going to spend at least half a day driving the area in my rental car while I'm up there. Everyone I speak to about Middleton has great things to say so far, so I'm excited!

Thanks! I'll be doing much more once I am up in Idaho. I'll be losing my cameraman, and a couple of buddies I normally hunt with (who I video, or they video me), but I'm working on my equipment set-up in order to do more solo-filming while I am out and about.

Well, now I'm looking at South Nampa. My mom might be coming to stay with me for a few weeks, here and there, so Middleton might be too far out. I'm looking at the area around 12th Ave. Road and E Locust Lane. If anyone lives up there can give me their thoughts, it would be greatly appreciated!

Eric, anywhere in that general area is good. Quiet neighborhoods, Traffic is not to bad, Walmart just down the street, Hospital up the street.
Senior center close by, The freeway ( I-84 ) not to far, I live fairly close to the area that you mentioned and wouldn't live anywhere else. If I can help let me know.

Thanks Chuck! I was hesitant to look at areas other than Middleton, but I can get much more house for the money in South Nampa. I will also be closer to more areas that my 87yo mom will enjoy when visiting.

Hey Eric! First off thanks for the pellets my Ruger Yukon loves the Diablo Exacts 15.89's!! The Caldwell Nampa area are nice I've been in Caldwell apst all my life lived in nampa for a while also just off of 12th Ave I'm sure you will enjoy living there, still won't be too far from shooting. Also on a final note if you would like a camera man to help out with your videos I know a guy I am not a profesional by any means but I would be more than happy to help out!

Thanks for the info! I think I've got things nailed down on where I will end up. Now it's just waiting, and taking care of some family business before I am there for good. I leave California in about a month, but am not sure where I will be for the next couple of months.
